As friends with Jason Sudeikis since grade school, we worked together to improve Independence, MO Historical Society. Over the years, I have drawn caricatures for the city of Independence to help improve the historic town square and their Big Brother/SIster program.  Annually they have a hot dog eating contest and auction off goods to raise money.  The night is concluded by watching a movie outdoors.  A major sponsor is Up Dog. Best hot dog place in town!

Portrait drawing of pets. I love to do realistic drawings. Photo accurate. I spend about 8 hours per image. This piece sold for $500 because it had 4 separate drawings. The window is 11 x 14 with a 16 x 20 frame.  These are universal sizes so upgrading the fame can be easy when you go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

Wedding Caricature

by Ryan Landry on January 18, 2017 No comments

Ah – another wedding proposal. For $300 you can hire me to set up at any location and draw a caricature of you proposing to your girl. I act the job and all you have to do is sit through a caricature and when I am done, you go on one knee.  A caricature does all the asking and surprising.  It is a wonderful keep sake to have.  Pre-drawn pictures are $400. Both options include a mat and frame.  If you want a friend to inconspicuously video take the moment, that is an extra $70. But you can post that clip on FB or email and really capture the moment.

Another One Bites the Dust! Caricature for Retired

by Ryan Landry on January 7, 2017 No comments

It is an extremely popular idea to send a person off to retirement with a caricature and all the easter eggs surrounding him or her to remind them of their impact they had on a company. This is a wonderful example again of a man ready to hang his hat.  The Lee Jeans company hired me to depict a unique caricature to present to him at his retirement party.  When you come to me with an idea and you present hobbies, pets, inside jokes – I can draw them all. For the little price you pay me, I will bring a lifetime of memories in one great picture.

In a 20 x 16 frame, it is a wonderful gift. It personally says Thank You.

After Prom Art and Magic

by Ryan Landry on January 7, 2017 No comments

This is my dear friend SCOTT HENDERSON, Magician. We have teamed up many times at After Proms, store openings, Christmas parties. I met his brother at Famous Johnny’s Comedy Club where we worked together at the time. Scott runs a tight act and is very skilled. Especially in up-close magic. He will literally blow your mind away. If you are throwing a party and want to make it memerable you should hire Scott to work the room and do his magic and I can draw a cartoon of the party goers and then they can take something special home with them.  We are a one-two punch and are sure to make your party the talk of the town.

Scott is not only a dear bud and friend, his show is clean and so professional.  To learn more about Scott you can visit his website here. Magic Scott!

These pictures were from North Platte High School. Scott and I teamed up and it was a great night. On the third picture, look closely. Two kids sat down and had a t-shirt on with a reference from the show Breaking Bad. I thought it would be fun to draw Heisenberg in the background!

Mr. Moneybags Specialty Caricature

by Ryan Landry on January 7, 2017 No comments

The premise was simple.  I got a phone call and this wonderful man said he wanted a caricature of himself running away with a bag or briefcase of money in a monopoly like suit.  So we got to work right away. He sent me some head shots and the rest is history.  He later used this image for a presentation to which it received a very positive feedback.

We are currently working on a new project – a pencil drawing and I look forward to posting that when I am finished with that special project.

Refurbishing 1930’s Draft Table

by Ryan Landry on January 7, 2017 No comments

This desk stayed in a basement for many years. It was in bad shape and split down the center. It is made of wood and cast iron parts.  To refurbish this desk, I took everything apart and individually sanded all the surfaces. I used wood glue to repair any split wood.  After I sanded every piece, I used two types of varnish to get a two-toned effect.  In the end, it turned out so well that I don’t even want to use it for art but rather a piece of furniture to display art.

Caricature of Kids Specialty

by Ryan Landry on January 6, 2017 No comments

How a custom or specialized caricature works.  You send me pics and decide on on special interest.  It is my job to draw a picture in a cartoon form but more realistic and draw all the side stuff you desire wants! If you have one kid that likes soccer and one that likes to camp, I will incorporate everything inside your special picture, including dogs, cats or pets or/ and anything to your imagination.
